Cat Burglar’s Notebook Colophon

What this site is

Cat Burglar’s Notebook is a noir-flavored notebook about AI, data, systems, and the small operator discoveries that pile up when you spend your nights moving through other people’s infrastructure. The tagline is we came for the data, we left with the cat, and the bit holds: the work is the score, and the score is already in progress.

It is the first site in our federation conceived end-to-end as a Claude-collaborative property, rather than retrofitted from an existing business. That means the workflow, the voice, and the publishing rhythm were designed from day zero around a human editor working alongside AI tooling, not bolted on after the fact.

Who runs it

Owner and human editor: David Offutt. Final editorial control rests with David. Every page that ships gets a human read before it goes live, no matter how it was assembled on the way there.

Cat Burglar’s Notebook is not a regulated property. It carries no credentials, certifications, partnerships, or third-party endorsements, and it does not publish traffic numbers, subscriber counts, or vanity metrics. The site stands on what it says, not on what it claims about itself.

How it gets made

The site runs on WordPress, hosted on Bluehost. Pages may be assembled with AI-assisted tooling that drafts copy, fills metadata, and stages layouts, but every artifact passes through David before it ships. Think of the tooling as the lockpicks. The cat burglar still has to decide whether the job is worth doing.

This colophon page is the first artifact the factory built for Cat Burglar’s Notebook. It was chosen as the safe first page on purpose: it makes no external claims, names no partners, and quotes no numbers. Just the notebook, the operator, and the method.

If the notebook sounds like your kind of thing, drop an email and we’ll send word when the next entry lands. No pitch, no funnel, just the work.
